Aachoo....! And may god bless me!

I have a cold. I’ve been having a cold since so many days that I don’t even remember how it is to be un-coldy (If that can be allowed as a word). I have been sniffing and sneezing and coughing for close to a week. And that is after I’ve almost been finishing one tablet strip a day. It actually started out as a fever to which my husband said that its probably the flu. The moment he mentioned the word 'flu' i went like "Whaaaa.. OMG! I have the swine flu. And they havent even found the vaccine for that yet. I am gonna die....!!". Okay, once i got over the initial hysteria in my mind I recognised the age old symptoms. Fever, bodyaches and that nagging lil itch in that inaccesible corner of my throat. I had the common cold. It so much a better word than 'flu'. 'Flu' makes it sound like some disease or something.

So I do need to ask you something which I have been wondering about since quite some time. Do cold tablets actually work? Is there anyone out there in the whole world who has been cured of a cold by taking medicines off the chemist’s shelf? I remember my mom used to say “A cold takes a week to cure without medicines and 7 days to cure with them”. I say that is the greatest truth of my life. But even then, every time I start sniffing, I buy cold tablets. Or anti-cold tables should I say. In the hope that maybe instead of 7 days it may take 4?? So far…. No such luck.

Last week my hubby had a holiday midweek. I think there is something so great about having a holiday midweek. It just lifts the spirit for the whole week knowing that you have an extra day off. So anyways we went out to the city and generally had a great time. We also went to the aquarium. I actually thought that some place only kids go. So after a lot of persuasion from Ravi we finally went there. And it was not all that bad. And I saw a shark for the first time other than on TV. I was so instantly reminded of that Jaws music. Haha.

I made momos today with chilli sauce. I'm telling you I am a natural at cooking. I mean the moment I put a piece in my mouth I was instantly transferred to Dilli Haat in front of the Sikkim stall! I know I know, all the stalls there make momos but I have this thing for Sikkim Momos. The only thing missing here was the fruit beer.

Anyone who has not tried is seriously missing something BIG in their lives. You absolutely have to go and try them out.

This weekends agenda is Harry Potter. Yayy! I am dragging Ravi along to see it. But since I went along with him to Terminator and Transformers, I am guessing its payback time. :)
